Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson
Paul Thomas Anderson is in my top 10 of favorite directors. His films and range are just impeccable, and Phantom Thread is no exception. Daniel Day-Lewis caps off his career with a spectacular performance as Reynolds Woodcock, establishing great chemistry with co-stars Vicky Krieps and Lesley Manville. PTA’s masterful direction and cinematography adds gorgeous visuals to an already beautiful yet odd narrative. Jonny Greenwood's mesmerizing score sets the tone, and adds a further feeling of luxury and romance, which helps illustrate the lush production design and Reynold's and Alma's relationship. This film further reinforces why PTA is one of the best filmmakers working today.
My rating: 10/10
