C.T Recommended #39: The Hateful Eight (2015)

Starring: Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and Bruce Dern

The plot follows eight strangers who seek refuge from a blizzard in a stagecoach stopover some time after the American Civil War.

Not going to lie, I went in expecting a great film, but not one that will wow me. I was wrong, this film wow’ed me and more. The writing as expected was excellent and filled with great and interesting dialogue. The characters were fleshed out and memorable, as well as some topnotch acting from the cast. Not to mention a great soundtrack by the magnificent composer that is Ennio Morricone. All these add up to being an entertaining film from beginning to end, and establishing it’s place as my 3rd favorite Quentin Tarantino film.
