Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman

Starring: Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, and many more.

The plot follows Miles Morales, who becomes the Spider-Man of his reality, as he crosses paths with his counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat to all reality.

I've been hyped for this ever since they released the trailer. Out of nowhere, my cousin decided we should watch it this weekend (Was initially planning to stay home and watch Black Panther for the next review), and I have to say it was absolutely great. This film, has to be my favorite animated film of the year (Sorry Isle of Dogs, as much as I love you).

I mean it when I say that, the animation was fantastic. It had a mix of Western animation, Japanese animation, and impressive stop-motion animation. There were some great scenes that showcased how impressive the animation was, and boy was it fun and amazing. The cast was great, and each character was developed really well (especially my man Nicolas Cage). The movie itself had humor which was really funny as well, and was not overdone by any means. It is really difficult to find any flaws with the film really.

You do not need to watch any of the previous Spider-Man films (but to be honest, if you haven't seen any, you must be living under a rock or something), but the film does really well to explain the characters and the basic plot. Also, if you did watch any previous Spider-Man films, this film is riddled with easter eggs and nods which will make you smile or laugh, so that's good for the fans.

The visuals were great, and I love how they presented the storytelling through a comic-book style presentation. Music was great for the most part, but I didn't like some of the singles they used, I felt it was out of place (but that's a personal preference to be honest, I don't really like rap music). The after-credits scene is probably the best after-credits scene I have seen in a Marvel movie. That itself, should at least warrant it a watch.

In conclusion, it's fantastic, enjoying, and definitely worth watching, and most likely my favorite Spider-Man movie after Spider-Man 2 (No, I didn't like Spider-Man: Homecoming that much). Give this a watch as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed. Well unless you don't like animation, then don't watch it.

My rating: 9.0/10
