Directed by David Leitch

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin

The plot involves Deadpool and his team (X-force) tasked in protecting a young mutant from the time-travelling soldier Cable.

Well, I finally had the chance to see this film on the plane back home, and I have to say while it was quite good, it wasn't as good as the first film.

The acting, don't get me wrong was superb, Ryan Reynolds as further cemented himself as Deadpool, and no one can argue that. Josh Brolin also did well as the role of Cable, showing off his aggressive side, and also cracking a few jokes along the way. The story was well written (Besides one stupid decision), and the humor was great.

The issues I felt lied with the sequel, is the visuals. Some of it's cheesy CGI action scenes felt really mediocre, and one decision made in the movie felt really pointless.

SPOILER ALERT (Skip the paragraph below if you don't want to get spoiled).

That pointless decision, is the killing off of Deadpool's lover Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). this decision did not only feel pointless, but felt like a huge fist to the face of the viewers, who like Morena wanted to see the full exploration of the character in this film. This decision was only used to further develop Deadpool's character. This decision, was really disappointing in my regard and I, like many find it as one of the weak points of the film (Especially, since they bring her back in the end of the film using Cable's time traveling capsule).

In conclusion, it was a decent sequel, but did not quite hit the mark set by it's predecessor.

My rating: 7.0/10
