Created by Mark Frost and David Lynch Starring: Kyle MacLachlan The TV series follows the sudden murder of the local popular school girl named Laura Palmer. FBI agent Dale Cooper is sent from Washington to investigate the murder that shook the town that is Twin Peaks.
A little different, here I am recommending a TV show that I feel deserves to be recognized. Twin Peaks originally ran from 1990-1991, and returned for a third season in 2017. This show was recommended to me by a friend, and after watching the first two seasons and the film “Fire Walk with Me”, I have decided to recommend it to others.
The characters are well written and can be connected to our traits and behaviors. The acting also was well delivered by everyone especially Kyle MacLachlan who has played Dale Cooper since the start. The show goes through so many tones, it becomes emotional, psychological and sometimes depressing, and this gives us an emotional connection to these characters that we have learned to love/ know about for the 25 years that the show has ran. The tension, and suspense David Lynch builds in this dark world is ever so good, and delivers chills right into your spine when watching it.
Angelo Badalamenti’s soundtrack is brilliant, keeping the tone simple and immersive to others especially the famous intro tone showcasing the calmness and the beauty that is Twin Peaks, to the emotions its residents have felt during the dark times they have experienced. The cinematography done brilliantly by Peter Deming, displaying the saturated colors of the town, making it one of the most visually stunning TV shows ever made.
All in all, it’s a fantastic experience watching this show, and the ability to maintain that emotional connection to the characters, just shows how phenomenal this show has become. My rating: 10/10
