This film is based on the true event that is the 2015 Thalys train attack in which a train was on it's away to Paris from Amsterdam.
Once I heard of the film, I was excited at the prospect of yet another inspirational biographical movie by Clint Eastwood who has directed many of the same before this (American Sniper, Sully). I was instead met with some disappointments. The movie is really really slow paced. The actual event is played with connecting scenes but the beginning hour is all about the heroes backstories and childhoods, which soon became really boring. In the middle of the film, I literally asked myself if I came to the right theater room, cause it felt like I was watching a documentary instead of action packed film that the trailer promised. Eastwood's decision to use the actual heroes instead of actors to portray themselves, it was a huge gamble that did not pay off in my opinion, as their acting was sub par and sometimes even laughable. A average movie that portrayed the heroism right, but focuses heavily on their dull backstories. My rating: 5.5/10
